Rani Cooper, MD, a native Texan, is a board certified dermatologist with over a decade of experience practicing medicine exclusively in the field of dermatology. Dr. Cooper obtained her Bachelor of Science in biomedical science from Texas A&M University, graduating summa cum laude with a 4.0 GPA. She then attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, graduating in 2003 as member of the prestigious medical honor society of Alpha Omega Alpha. After completing a one-year internship in internal medicine she completed her dermatology residency at Scott & White in Temple, Texas. During her last year of residency she served as Chief Resident. Upon completing her residency she began her career in private dermatology practice in San Antonio. Dr. Cooper’s husband is also a physician. They moved their family to the Houston Metro area in 2010 for him to complete his specialized training. This allowed Dr. Cooper to gain further experience in the Houston medical center treating patients from all over the world.
In 2007 Dr. Cooper earned her board certification from the American Board of Dermatology and then became a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD). She is a member of the Texas Medical Society, Harris County Medical Society, and the Texas Dermatological Society.
Dr. Cooper and her family have been active Katy residents since 2011. She loves raising her family in this growing diverse community. Dr. Cooper attends St. Peter’s United Methodist Church with her family and is a mom to 3 energetic busy young children. When not in the office or enjoying her children’s many activities such as basketball, dance, gymnastics, and piano, Dr. Cooper enjoys running, biking, Orange Theory Fitness, and trying all the new local restaurants with her husband. Dr. Cooper is excited to be a part of the Cinco Ranch Dermatology family and looks forward to continuing and growing her practice in Katy.
